Use of collaborative robot technology optimizes grinding work
To achieve optimum surfaces, grinding of the components to be coated is often absolutely necessary. So is to achieve a smooth reflective surface, as it is usually desired in the bright chrome plating. Here then different abrasives and methods are used. In most cases this is done in a demanding and complex manual way.
At the beginning of the year, a modern COBOT (collaborative robot) was purchased to optimize grinding work. This met the requirements that we have set for this task. Flexible use, mobile use, trainable with your own staff - no high programming effort and with integrated personal protection.
With its own staff, this robot could then be integrated into a grinding plant. After a training period and the necessary adjustments, the plant has taken over the grinding work for a range of parts. The uncomplicated handling of the cobot also explains the high acceptance among the employees.
