The alternative to silver

Tin

Due to its good resistance to humid and normal air and its high electrical conductivity with low contact resistance, tin is a preferred surface in the electrical and automotive industries.

Procedure at a glance

Tinning

Tin, a silvery-white and soft metal, is extracted from the mineral cassiterite (outdated: tinstone). It is deposited from sulphuric acid electrolytes in the electroplating process, whereby organic substances vary the structure of the layer and therefore enable matt and shiny surfaces. We have both automatic rack and barrel machines as well as a manual system for processing.
