Company foundation

Franz X. Rieger founds the “Galvanic Institute” in a converted chicken coop in Heidenheim an der Brenz. Seven years later, the new building in the neighboring village of Steinheim is occupied. By the end of the 1970s, Rieger Metallveredlung had grown from a craft business to an industrial operation.

25 years

The 25th anniversary was celebrated.

Award ceremony

Franz X. Rieger receives the “Dr. Rudolf Ebert Prize” for innovative electroplating research

Pilot project

The ozone wastewater treatment plant is put into operation. This plant is a European pilot project.

Generation change & quality management system

A generational change is taking place. Franz X. Rieger hands over the management of the company to his son A. Franz Rieger. In the same year, the quality management system is introduced and certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.

50 years

The 50th anniversary was celebrated.

Environmental certification

The environmental management system is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001.

Testing and packaging system

The installation of the inspection and packaging system for steering boxes marks another milestone, as the inspection technology used there using lasers and cameras is unique in this field.

Change of name

Change of name from “Franz Rieger Metallveredlung e. K.” to “Rieger Metallveredlung GmbH & Co. KG” .
