Rieger Metallveredlung Nickel

An important alloying metal in steel finishing

Galvanic nickel

Nickel, a transition metal with excellent corrosion resistance, is widely used as a protective and diffusion barrier, particularly in the automotive and mechanical engineering industries, due to its shiny and robust properties.

Procedure at a glance

Nickel plating

Nickel deposition is mainly carried out from sulphuric acid electrolytes (Watt's bath) and can influence the layer structure by adding organic substances. Matt, bright (decorative) and semi-bright (corrosion-resistant) layers can be deposited. With two successful patents on the market, we are experts in aluminium electroplating, specializing in the nickel plating of aluminium and the associated processes such as copper plating and chrome plating.

Benefits

Properties
good adhesive strength on all common base materials such as steel and brass
Direct deposition on aluminum possible (see NICAL® and RICAL® processes).
Good corrosion protection, also in combination layers
High decorative effect, also in combination with e.g. chrome
good electrical conductivity
can also be used in the drum process for bulk materials
good solderability
